Kigali City sponsored club AS Kigali cruised into the last four of this year’s Peace Cup against Malaria competition with a 3-1 win over Musanze at Kicukiro turf. Skipper Jimmy Mbaraga scored a double while Muhamud Kabula added himself on the score sheet. Former APR winger Bebeto Lwamba scored the consolation goal for Musanze.
AS Kigali stormed the semi final with a 4-1 goal aggregate.
In other matches, second division outfit, Bugesera also ensured their passage into the semi final stage after a 2-1 win over Vision FC. They qualified with a 5-3 goal aggregate.
Action continues today with defending champions APR taking on relegation-threatened Isonga FC at Stade de Kigali. The military side hold a comfortable 2-1 cushion from the first leg and with a win or a draw, they will be granted passage into the last four.
Isonga need a 2-0 goal win to book a place into the last four.
Mukura visits AS Muhanga leading with 1-0 goal advantage. Imbuto Foundation has injected Rwf97m into this year’s Peace Cup football tournament, which is renamed “Peace Cup against Malaria”.
