Springtime in Morocco is between March to May. It is pleasantly warm and green during this time. Heat intensifies during the summer months, from June to August and temperatures start to cool off by September. The winter months, from December to February, can be extremely cold with bitter, icy winds that blow off snow covered peaks in the Atlas mountain range. The Rif mountains are wet, cold and cloudy in the winter and early spring.
Avoid travelling in the Muslim Ramadan season which is usually in September or October and which lasts for approximately one month. Restaurants and cafes close during the day at this time and it may be that a traveller finds himself or herself stranded during business hours.
