‘Bodadoda’ operator gunned down in Mbeya Region

A motorcycle taxi operator was gunned down by unknown people, who also ransacked his T-Better make motorcycle with registration number T 263 BZC, in Madabaga village, Mbarali District in Mbeya Region on Monday.

Mbeya Regional Police Commander (RPC), Diwani Athumani, told the ‘Daily News’ that the motorcyclist, who was identified as Hans Mbogo (17), was hired by some people to take them to a nearby village on Monday evening.

He said the deceased’s body was found in a bush bearing seven bullet wounds in Itange area on Tuesday morning, saying the body was taken to Mbarali District Hospital for a postmortem.

Mr Athumani said police had launched a manhunt and investigation into the matter was ongoing. He said Mbogo, who was a form three student at Katenga Secondary School, was working part-time as a ‘bodaboda’ taxi operator.
