American group Eagles of Death Metal band was performing at the crowded Bataclan theater in Paris when terror struck. Three terrorists yelled Allahu Akbar while bursting into the jam packed hall. Within minutes there were bloodsheds in series of sustained gunfire. It is also reported grenades were thrown into the crowd.
People started hiding under the seats and climbing into the upper boxes in the 150-year-old music hall and the band quickly fled the stage amid scene of carnage.
Similar attacks were also made at bars, restaurants and stadium in the France capital.
All the emergency services were immediately mobilized. About 1,500 army reinforcements were drafted. Police leave was canceled. Hospitals staff were recalled to cope up with the casualties.
Radio and TV stations warned people to stay home and leave the streets. Residents were urged too to give shelter to people caught out in the street.
