CECAFA: URA make a winning start

James Kasibante struck the all-important goal as one of Uganda’s CECAFA Club Cup representatives URA FC beat Al Hilal 1-0 yesterday.

The Uganda tax collectors launched their championship campaign against in Kadguli without their head coach Paul Nkata and star striker Frank Kalanda.

The two didn’t travel sighting failure to process their passports in time but will join up with the rest of the squad this week.

Ibrahim Kirya, Nkata’s assistant was in charge of the team as they made a perfect start to the tournament.

URA was not supposed to be in this tournament but after Kenya’s Tusker FC, Simba and Yanga from Tanzania pulled out sighting insecurity in the Darfur region, the tournament organisers were compelled to turn to other teams.

Goal scorer Kasibante, the former Entebbe Young player is just one of several new names in the tax collectors’ ranks.

However, there are reports that BIDCO are preparing an official complaint to FUFA over their players Hashim Sempala and Martin Kivumbi, who also travelled with URA.
