Kenya seems to be the latest hot spot for investment if consider the move of Chinese companies from Shenzhen Municipality.
Representatives are on a business visit to capital Nairobi to discuss investment opportunities with local investors several sectors like trade, energy, finance and agriculture.
Shenzhen is one of the most innovative cities in China.
Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Lu Pengqi, and Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen Municipal Government, Chen Biao, is leading the Chinese team which is comprised of entrepreneurs from real estate, Information Technology, manufacturing and other sectors.
Lu Pengqi said in recent past both the countries have developed a robust trade and investment ties and as Shenzhen has a win-win goal due to its first Special Economic Zone nature, Kenya’s industrialization process will benefit with the aspiration for international capacity cooperation of the city.
Chen Biao said there are several companies in Shenzhen that believes in the economic potential of Kenya and hopes the two countries will cooperate with each other in sectors like transportation, energy, tourism and communications.
Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest) Managing Director Moses Ikiara confirmed the Chinese delegation is in the country to explore investment opportunities in sectors like agriculture and further grow business ties.
He added as a host they have given all the required information to the Chinese representatives about investing in Kenya and let them learn more about the investment atmosphere in their stay for next three days in Nairobi.
Earlier this year some Chinese companies signed trade deal with the Kenyan government too.
