Bishop Telesphor Mkude of Morogoro Catholic Diocese has urged the government to ensure that the existing peace in the country is maintained.
He gave the advice on Friday after launching Mchungaji Mwema Sokoine Church in Wami-Sokoine Village in Mvomero District, where he said the government in collaboration with religious leaders have the mandate to ensure that people live in harmony.
More than 200m/- was used to built the church which is an outstation of Dakawa Parish in honour of former Prime Minister, the Late Edward Moringe Sokoine who died in a road accident at Wami-Sokoine village in 1984.
Bishop Mkude insisted that people irrespective of their religious affiliations should know their rights and stick to their boundaries.
He said that even the conflict between pastoralists and farmers in Mvomero District has existed for a long time because some people have failed to respect their boundaries.
