The Dar es Salaam Amateur Darts Association (DADA) general election that was earlier scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed and will now be held on 1st December this year.
DADA Secretary Lambart Rwihula said in Dar es Salaam on Friday that they were forced to postpone the elections because Clubs and District elections, which are key in the DADA election, have been delayed.
“The DADA general election will not take place on October 27 (tomorrow) as planned. Instead the new date for the poll will now be December 1, to give room for districts has to do their part first,” he said.
Rwihula said that DADA has given districts up to November 10 to ensure they conduct their elections.
He also said that clubs have also been directed to hold their elections and send the names of their new office bearers to DADA by November 3, this year.
Meanwhile, Rwihula said that DADA has organised special meeting scheduled at the Friendz Club on November 3, this year, to discuss among other issues the current dispute between DADA and national body TADA.
He said the main agenda for the meeting that will also be attended by TADA officials is the row between them.
“We ask each club to be represented by its chairman, secretary, treasurer and a committee member in the meeting,” he said.
Dar es Salaam recently threatened to boycott all national tournaments and demanded the national body to clear their doubt regarding lack of transparency on sponsorship package and winners’ prizes.
However, they later eased their stance and opted to send teams at National Darts Club Championship in Morogoro mid this month after putting the matter on hold.
Rwihula was quoted by this paper saying that DADA and teams feel that they are forgotten when it comes to sponsorship benefits but still allow teams to go to Morogoro hopping that the matter will be solved through joint meeting.
