The 54 holes three-day event organised by the Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Union (ZLGU) is scheduled to tee off on Friday at the Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club in Harare. The championship will reach its climax on Sunday. Eaton, will have to overcome fatigue to impress at the championship.

She spent almost three days travelling by bus from Dar es Salaam to Harare, where she arrived safely and welcomed by Zimbabwean national team member Loice Chingono.

Chingono told the ‘Daily News’ from Zimbabwe that: “Yes she arrived here last night (Tuesday night) and she is ’tired’ but confident that she will be in great shape by tomorrow.” Eaton left the country last Saturday by bus via Tunduma and Lusaka, Zambia before arriving in Harare.

She will be the first Tanzanian lady to take part in the event. Before she left, Eaton told the ‘Daily News’ that she is in good shape and ready for the event, but the biggest challenge ahead of her was a long bus trip.

Eaton pointed out that the financial constraints and lack of sponsorship forced her to opt for road transport as she aims to compete in Zimbabwe and test her skills against other African top players.

Eaton braces for stiff competition from more than 100 players from other country like Zambia, Uganda, South Africa and Namibia and hosts Zimbabwe.
