A Dar es Salaam based contractor firm has launched a new construction technology of using double glazing glass panes to reduce heat transfer to structures fitted with glass panes.
The firm, Dar es Salaam Glass, says it was introducing double glazing glass panels to the booming construction industry in Tanzania that will be most effective in reducing heat in building fitted with glass panes.
The Managing Director of the firm, Shiraz Jessa told reporters over the weekend that the new panels would solve the problem of too much heat in buildings with glass panels during electricity blackouts.
He said the technology was adopted in German and Belgium for the purpose of balancing the temperature to the structures that have been constructed by glasses.
“We adopt this technology of Double Glazing Glass from German and Belgium where most of their buildings have been fitted with these glasses which balance the temperature when there is a power breakout,” he said.
He said consultants and contractors in the country needed to use double glazing glass panels as that is the new technology to solve the problem of heat transfer without using air conditioners.
