The Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) has secured a major sponsorship deal from a city based Serena Hotel, in an effort to promote sports at the club.
The hotel has come forward to sponsor several golf events at this year’s calendar. The sponsorship will start with this month’s Mug Golf tournament.
The 18 holes stroke play tournament is scheduled to tee off on February 22, this year at the club course. In her latest communication to club members, the DGC manager Sophie Nyanjera said that Serena Hotel will sponsor about five golf events this year.
“I would like to inform members that Serena Hotel has agreed with club to sponsor some golf activities at this year’s calendar,” she said.
Nyanjera named other events apart from February Mug are Serena Corporate Golf Day to be held on May 10th, June Monthly Mug, September Monthly Mug and November Monthly Mug.
She thanked the hotel’s management for their willingness and kindness to support the sport at the club. Nyanjera invited other companies and organizations to come forward and support golf and other sports discipline at the club.
“Should any company or organisation be interested in sponsoring any of our events, please do not hesitate to contact our office. DGC sports section includes the following disciplines– golf, snooker, tennis, football, cricket, squash and chess. They also have children’s events and members’ entertainments.”
