Development Bank of Rwanda (BRD) will soon start client outreaches to monitor and evaluate the performance of projects it funds.
“This will help us share and understand major challenges the projects face and, therefore, help us devise appropriate mechanisms to spur performance,” remarked Alex Kanyankole, the BRD chief executive officer.
Kanyankole, who was addressing clients at Dayenu Hotel in Nyanza District on Monday, said the move will in the long-run benefit clients and the bank.
The event attracted over 100 business people from seven districts in the Southern and Western provinces, who represented about 70 projects sponsored by the BRD Nyanza branch.
“The professional guidance we have received from the bank will help us devise plans to improve our businesses,” noted Gasard Gasana, the proprietor of Dayenu Hotel and one of the businesses the bank funds.
Frank Abaho, the BRD public relations and communications officer, said the professional guidance provided aimed at equipping clients with skills on business growth and development.
Abaho added that more consultative meetings and client outreaches were in the pipeline. The bank sponsors projects run by co-operatives, limited companies and NGOs.
