Earthquake victims should not be blaming the government as work is in progress and affected infrastructures would be restored in a good order, said Kilimanjaro regional commissioner Said Meck Sadick.
He urged the victims to be tolerant and should know social services cannot be restored in such a short period.
Sadick was earlier the regional commissioner of Dar es Salaam during bomb explosions in Mbagala and Gongo la Mboto.
He said they tried to build some houses for bomb explosion victims then but it is true life is yet to be reestablished to normal state.
At the Kagera RC’s Office in Bukoba municipality he handled moren than Sh106 million from private institutions, public and citizens in the region on Sunday.
The donation included 206 bed sheets, 600 mosquito nets and 390 blankest worth Sh2 million.
It is also learned Lindi residents donated clothing items as well as cash worth Sh16.7 million to the earthquake survivors.
A cheque was handed over to the Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa on Sunday at a public rally in Nachingwea district by Lindi Reginal Commissioner Godfrey Zambi.
Majaliwa was visiting the Southern region.
Zambi said while handling the cheque the contributions were from RC’s office staff, residents of Lindi, Kilwa, Liwale, Nachingwea and Ruangwa districts.
The clothes included women apparel like Khanga and Vitenges, bedsheets and shoes. The net worth of these are yet to be revealed.
Majaliwa received on behalf of the Kagera earth survivors. The funds will be used in the reconstructions of infrastructure and clothes will be distributed equally.
