The Super League clubs will be able to draw their own roadmap which will see them have a more competitive league next season.
FIFA senior manager in charge of member associations, James Johnson, who is in the country to conduct a league workshop, made the remarks yesterday in Namboole, Wakiso District.
He stressed that each FIFA member association must have one top-tier national league, which must be supervised and sanctioned by the national federation.
In his presentation that opened the workshop, Johnson said that it is the duty of the national association to make sure that there is one top tier league.
“We know that the situation in Uganda has been somehow different but it’s crucial that in any association, there is one top tier league.
“There might be more leagues that feed the top tier but the top tier should be one,” said Johnson while delivering a paper to league club officials yesterday.
He said that the presence of a well-organised league was bound to help both the technical personnel to showcase their talent and management skills in addition to boosting their chances of securing corporate sponsorship.
CECAFA president Leodegar Tenga noted that the time was now for clubs to avoid politics and concentrate on seeing that they play and develop the game.
