Farmers, financial institutions agree to work closely

A two-day expo aimed at enhancing innovations in agriculture and enhancing partnerships between farmers and other stakeholders closed  yesterday in Kayonza District .

The finance fair was organised by Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), Agri-Hub and a number of partners  aimed at boosting the spirit of entrepreneurship in farming.

The event was held under the auspices of Agri-ProFocus Rwanda, a network of farmers’ organisations, NGOs, financial institutions, research institutions, private and public sector actors and other international development agencies.

The Director General in charge of planning Minagri, Raphael Rurangwa said that the fair was a good platform to share major obstacles regarding farmers’ access to financial services and lack of sufficient knowledge about agricultural project management.
