The Confederation of East and Central Africa Football (Cecafa) has appointed former Uganda Football federation boss Lawrence Mulindwa as the body’s vice chairman with immediate effect.
The Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye confirmed the development yesterday.
He said, “Cecafa chairman Leodegar Tenga has appointed Mulindwa as the vice chairman. Tenga recognised the long experience of Mulindwa as chairman of Fufa for eight years and also a member of Caf standing committee for the same period of time.”
“He also recognised his business acumen and entrepreneurship. Tenga expressed his satisfaction that the appointment of Mulindwa will enhance stability in the zone,” added Musonye.
Mulindwa was elected as one of the four Cecafa executive committee members during the general assembly in Nairobi Kenya in November last year.
The other members of the committee include Rwandan Raoul Gisanura (former Ferwafa vice president), Tariq Atta from Sudan and Abdiqaani Said Arab from Somalia.
