Richard Gomes collected his second golf title this year at the Aaron Musonda Farewell golf tournament played over the weekend at the Arusha Gymkhana Club (AGC).
Playing-off handicap-7, AGC secretary Gomes was unstoppable after firing a marvelous score of six-under 42 Stable Ford points at the 18 holes tournament to clinch the Division A top prize. His exciting performance also saw his handicap improved from 7 to 5.
This is his second win this year after the January 4, 2014 New Year Challenge that he won with 39 points. Jason Frisby, playing off handicap-10, also had a very impressive score of four-under 40 points to finish runner-up. The AGC chairman’s son handicap was also chopped to 9.
But last week’s London Bazaar Corporate Division A winner Kamal Jandu could not find his swing after carding just 26 points that were not enough to win a prize.
Division B top prize went to Raju Singh Bhachu, playing off handicap-19, who returned 39 points, while Hiten Nathwani, playing off 20 handicap, finished runner-up on countback after they both returned the same score.
Bhachu and Nathwani’s handicap have now changed to 18 and 19 respectively due to their good performance. Aayush Nathwani, handicap-25 and Upendra Baghel, handicap-25, emerged Division C winner and runner-up with 29 and 25 points respectively.
