Gor Mahia players went to Naivasha on Tuesday for a team building as part of their strategy to remain at the top of the KPL table.
The club vice-chairman David Kilo, said they got a professional facilitator to engage the players ahead of the remaining fixtures.
“We understand that the league is getting more difficult and we have to give the players something extra to ensure that they do well. There is need for them to remain positive and able to take the pressure as competition intensifies,” said Kilo.
He said the same will be done for branches to educate fans on the need to keep peace during matches.
“We want to engage with our fans at this level and help them see the need to support us in every way by avoiding actions that will put us in trouble,” the official said.
Elsewhere, Muhoroni Youth chairman Moses Adagala says the team is coping well without head coach Alfred Imonje who has taken a three week leave.
Adagala said they were unlucky not to beat Western Stima during last weekend’s GOtv Shield.
Stima won the match 4-2 to set up a date with Gor Mahia in the quarter-finals.
“Imonje’s leave will end on October 2. However, in the meantime we are coping well without him and the boys have adjusted.”
