President Yoweri Museveni has said government is determined to implement a systematic and standard approach to promote income generation in homes and fight poverty adding that senior army officers will directly oversee the implementation of projects in former NRA operational areas, the same model will be replicated around the country.

The President said the army will reinforce efforts to fight poverty revoking bush war tactics in which each zone had specific leaders to monitor progress.
He was on his first day tour of Wakiso district in his efforts to sensitize veterans on the way forward in eradicating poverty through systematic approach in modern commercial agriculture.
The President was today addressing veterans and the people of Masulita at St. Pius Senior Secondary School Kiziba in Masulita and St. Edwards Garamba S.S. in Wakiso district. Lt. Col. Edward Kaddu and Lt. Col. Byuma will oversee the two zones respectively. They will be under the overall supervision of Gen. Salim Saleh who is deputized by Brig. Proscovia Nalweiso will oversee the general implementation of the projects and will work closely with local leaders
Museveni said a standardized approach is to be followed where implements like seedlings will be set up and accessed from one location. He cited nursery beds for coffee seedlings that will be supplied to the people of the area and improved livestock breeding farms.
He also said he will provide a hydro form machines for making bricks to boost the housing sector. The President pledged to provide the people of Masulita with a coffee a factory where there is coffee or that of juice where there are fruits.
The President said as the government continues to work on infrastructure, the priority must be on wealth creation in homes.
Museveni also made a brief stopover at Kakiri town council to talk to residents here. He later visited the home of the late Phillip Mutebi a veteran who lost his son Mutebi Kulebenu a former Radio Busiro radio presenter and contributed sh2m towards burial expenses.
The President thanked the people of Masulita for their contribution during the liberation struggle and called for their continued support of the movement government.
He cautioned the youth against HIV Aids and said government has invested a lot in their future which they must exploit.
