Taarab music legend, the late Fatma Baraka, better known as Bi Kidude, will be honoured during the 50th Revolution anniversary, the House was informed.

“Bi Kidude and other late and retired artists will be honoured in various ways including collecting and preserving their works in archives,” said Deputy Minister for Information and Culture, Ms Bihindi Hamad Khamis.
Her statement was in response to Mr Jaku Hashim Ayoub (CCM- Muyuni), who wanted to hear from the government its plans about appreciating the work of artists in the islands.
The deputy minister said her ministry was planning to invite retired and active artists for a gathering and joint performance during celebrations to mark the 50th Revolution anniversary.
