Guru Nanak rally set to decide national winner

Arusha Motor Sports Club will play host to the last but one round of the Tanzanian national rally championship series, which will take place on October 19th this year, an event that could decide national rally championship winner.

According to the Arusha Times, the Guru Nanak rally will amass foreign entries with the likes of Kenyans Jassi Chatthe and Quentin Mitchell who have both confirmed entry. South African driver Geoff Bell has also confirmed to be part of the race and will be using the event to shape up for the East African Safari Rally. However, all eyes will be on local drivers as a mere four points separate the top four championship contenders.

Arusha’s Gerard Miller co-driven by Peter Fox and Eric Cormack co-driven by Manmeet Singh will use their home advantage against Dar es Salaam driver Jamil Khan.

Debutant driver Gurjit Dhani from Moshi will also be in the championship race and will surprise many if he manages to win the national crown in only his first year in the sport.

The championship has never been this close in recent years and a nail biting finish is imminent. The rally will take place in the beautiful but challenging and twisty Kisongo and Monduli stages that promise to be a treat to all rally fans.

Event organizers call upon spectators to respect all safety measures put in place. Prominent Sikh Businesses in and around Arusha region will sponsor this year’s event.
