The Inspector General of Government (IGG) has stopped the Jinja district service commission from conducting interviews for town clerks for Bugembe and Kakira town councils, both located in Jinja district.
A letter dated April 24 signed by the IGG, Irene Mulyagonja, to the chairperson of the district service commission, Richard Isabirye, stopped the exercise that had been slated for April 25.
She cited nepotism and corruption, which had marred the exercise, saying interviews should not be held until thorough investigations are done by her office. The posts fell vacant after the former occupants were promoted before being transferred. They had been occupied by Abdu Batambuze and Paul Batanda.
