Among titles that have already been a hit at several other prestigious festivals, Paul Greengrass’ “Captain Phillips”, a Tom Hanks starrer based on true story of a 2009 cargo ship hijacking, gets the honor to kick off the event, which runs from September 27 – October 13.

Three pics opening to rave reviews at Cannes are also selected by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The aforementioned movies include Palme d’Or winner “Blue Is the Warmest Color”, “All Is Lost” with Robert Redford as the only cast member and Alexander Payne’s directorial effort, “Nebraska”.
