In his divorce proceedings, White confesses to hating Auerbach as revealed in e-mails submitted in court.
When musician Jack White’s ex-wife Karen Elson submitted a bunch of e-mails in court during their divorce proceedings, she did so with the intent to support her claims that her now estranged husband is a threat to her security. Turns out those correspondences will expose the former The White Stripes member’s disdain for fellow musician Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
“My concern with Auerbach is because I don’t want the kids involved in any of that cr*p. You aren’t thinking ahead. That’s a possible twelve f**king years I’m going to have to be sitting in kids chairs next to that a**hole with other people trying to lump us in together,” White wrote to Elson. Both White and Auerbach live in Nashville.
“He gets yet another free reign [sic] to follow me around and copy me and push himself into my world,” said White, blasting Auerbach for transferring to Nashville after White had already moved there. He apparently dislikes his fellow blues/garage rocker so much he has reportedly banned The Black Keys from a Nashville recording studio last year.
After Elson successfully obtained a restraining order against her ex-husband, White immediately filed a countermotion to dispute the allegations that he is a violent and abusive spouse and father to their kids. He contends that Elson has actually commended his parenting skills and even left their two children in his care for one week a day after signing her restraining order affidavit.
