Yanga took the lead shortly before the interval, when new recruit, Hussein Javu pounced on a neat pass from play maker, Haruna Niyonzima. His sizzling shot precisely beat the keeper.

It was the second goal in two matches for Javu, who proved to be a good deal for Ernie Brandts team.

His first was against his former employer, Mtibwa Sugar in another pre-season friendly match at the same venue on Sunday, in which Yanga won 3-1.

Both sides put up a good show but it was the Jangwani Street lads, who enjoyed the lion share of possession and ought to have won even by a bigger margin but they wasted numerous scoring chances with Jerryson Tegete and Javu main culprits.

After the break Yanga called off Jerryson Tegete, Said Bahanuzi, Nadir Haroub Ally and Juma Abdul and they were replaced by Salum Telela, Oscar Joshua, Kelvin Yondani and Didier Kavumbagu. Javu went close again when he missed a sitter from aawell measured cross from Telela.

Then Brandts call off Athumani Idd ‘Chuji’, Javu and Niyonzima, introducing Issa Ngao, Bakari Masoud and Abdallah Mguhi. Match referee, Oden Mbaga flash red card on Yanga coach Ernie Brandts for bad behaviour as Yanga hold on to their victory.

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has cleared Nigerian side FC 3Pillars to play friendly matches in the country after securing a go ahead from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Early last month, the team was blocked to play any friendly matches in the country because the TFF said their visit in the country was not sanctioned by NFF.

The team’s tour of the country was also not coordinated by the world’s football governing body FIFA recognised agent or the federation members as required by regulations.

The TFF then canceled a planned-preseason friendly match between Yanga and visiting Nigerian team, which was to take place at the same venue. Consequently, the TFF warned regional football associations against hosting friendly matches between local clubs and foreign teams whose visit has not been endorsed by their respective national football governing bodies.

However, the TFF cleared 3Pillars to play in the country after their tour was endorsed by NFF and their visit is now coordinated by Dar es Salaam Regional Football Association (DRFA), who are the TFF member.

Earlier, the match was coordinated by Salum Mkemi. Apart from Yanga, FC 3Pillars were lined up to play more friendly matches against Coastal Union of Tanga and newly-promoted Mbeya City.
