Jimmy Enabu not ready to lose again

Jimmy Enabu did not expect Sunday’s defeat to the KIU Titans or the three losses that City Oil now have in the National Basketball League (NBL).

Put differently, Enabu is not ready to lose again anytime soon. Sorry Ndejje Angels!

City Oil meet Ndejje today at Lugogo and while this seems a tough match to call, Enabu says his side have run out of room for more losses in the first round.

“I didn’t think we would have three losses at this point,” said City Oil’s prodigious shooting guard.

“But the good thing is our weakness are easy to rectify. We are not worried about the loss to KIU because I think it was an off-day for the team, so I expect us to bounce back today.”

For his part, Ndejje captain and reigning MVP Geoffrey Soro expects City Oil to come with a point to prove.

“I know they will come out hard because no team wants to lose two games in a row but we can use that to our advantage,” explained Soro.

The Angels have made a good start to the season, winning three of their first five games but Walker Obedi’s side have a tough run of games coming up, including the UCU Canons and Riham Warriors. Still, Soro is confident of good returns.

“We can match up with any team in the league right now,” declared the forward/centre.

“The problem was our mental strength but we have improved that.”

In the first match of the day, the Charging Rhinos will be out to prove whether the technical changes they have incorporated in their training regime can bear fruit against Vegetarian, with whom they are striving to avoid relegation.
