Kenya: Energy Regulatory Commission increases fuel prices

NAIROBI, KENYA: Consumers will pay more for fuel in new prices released by Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

Higher petrol pricesThe Commission increased prices of Kerosene by Sh4.44 per litre, Super Petrol by Sh 2.74, and Diesel by Sh1.58 for Nairobi residents.

“Taking into account the weighted avarage costs of imported products and products refined locally, the prices of fuel will go up in Nairobi, maximum prices for other towns have been adjusted accordingly,” said the commission in a statement.

The purpose of the fuel pricing regulation is to cap the pump prices of the products , which are already in the country, such that the importation and other prudently incurred costs are recovered while ensuring fair prices to consumers.
