Residents of Busia town have waken up to yet another bizarre incidence where the body of a young lady was found in a maize plantation at a Busia estate.
The body of a 24yrs girl was discovered by watchmen in a maize plantation at Fort Jesus estate with several injuries believed to be caused by a knife.
Confirming the incidence, area assistant chief Vincent Ojumaa said the lady might have been killed elsewhere and her body thrown in the area as she is not known by the residents,although some sources say she was a bar attendant in Busia town.
The incidence has drawn sharp criticism from locals who have called on Busia county governor Sospeter Ojaamong and his Deputy Kizito Wangalwa to convene a security meeting with the county security team and bring to an end insecurity which is escalating at a an alarming speed.
The incidence has occurred on a day when the body of a boda boda operator who was killed last week in Busia town by thugs and his motorbike stolen is being removed from mortuary for burial tomorrow in Mundulusia village near Busia town.
A spot check by reporters in Busia town has revealed that many residents are living in fear of being attacked either in their homes or on Busia streets even as early as 7pm.
