Shaaban Kibuna emerged Zuku decoder special prize winner at this week’s Info-Tech-Pepsi golf tournament held at the Tanzania People’s Defences Force (TPDF) Lugalo Club course in Dar es Salaam on Friday.
The handicap-10 Kibuna was lucky to go home with the special top prize at the tournament after he returned three-over 33 points in the 18-hole Stable Ford format event.
The top prize was supposed to go to the Division A winner Abdallah Yusuph, handicap-3, who returned a stunning score of four-under 40 points.
Organisers of the event have come up with a system that allows those who have never won a decoder to at least get one and this is why the prize was allocated to Kibuna as Yusuph had already won it in the previous weeks.
However, Yusuph did not left with empty hands as he walked home with a one month free premium subscription from the sponsor– Zuku.
The Division B top prize went to handicap-13 Burure Magige, who carded 34 points, while Geoffrey Kilenga handicap-16 finished second with 32 points.
Patrick Waweru handicap-20 had 29 points but still earned Division C top prize as handicap-25 Nicholas Siwingwa finished second with 27 points.
Ladies top prize went to Sophia Mathias handicap-20 with 30 points as Sara Dennis handicap-21 settled second with 27 points.
The new Lugalo Captain Japhet Masai thanked all participants and Zuku, who agreed to sponsor the tournament in all 52 Fridays in this year as part of the efforts to promote sport in the club and national at large.
