Tanzania has established diplomatic missions in the Netherlands and Comoros with President Jakaya Kikwete appointing Mr Wilson Masilingi to become the first Tanzanian ambassador to the Netherlands.
Mr Masilingi, a lawyer and veteran politician was prior to his appointment a board member of the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) and formerly a legislator and cabinet minister responsible for good governance.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said that the president has also appointed Mr Chabaka Faraji Ali Kilumanga as ambassador to the Comoros transferring him from the UK where he was a deputy ambassador.
Mr Modest Jonathan Mero now shifts to Geneva, Switzerland to represent Tanzania at the UN offices formerly working as a Senior Foreign Affairs Officer at the country’s representation at the UN offices in New York.
The president has also transferred Ambassador Philip Marmo from China to the Federal Republic of Germany.
