President Jakaya Kikwete has directed the National Investment Steering Committee (NISC) to review an annual report on the Global Competitiveness Index-GCI in order to advise him on the best way to improve business competition.
According to a press statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications on Monday, the NISC which is chaired by the Prime Minister, Mr Mizengo Pinda, should submit recommendations to the Head of the State after one month from on Monday.
“The committee should meet for discussing the report in order to improve the position of Tanzania in the coming annual report,” said part of the statement. The annual report is being issued by the World Economic Forum (WEF) after carrying out close investigation in different countries worldwide.
