Her fiance Kanye West likes to compare himself to deities and most recently soldiers. And it seems that Kim Kardashian may be suffering a similar delusion.
Kim Kardashian compared herself to Elizabeth Taylor on Instagram on Monday
The reality star attempted to channel the likes of iconic Elizabeth Taylor in yet another indulgent selfie.
On Monday Kim posted an image on her Instagram page which sees her standing in front of a photograph of the Cleopatra actress while trying to recreate it.
The 33-year-old put a black and white filter on her phone and posed so that just her eyes and defined eyebrows can be seen.
Just like Liz, Kim wears a towel turban which she holds up with her left hand while flashing her ginormous engagement ring.
Elizabeth’s stunning picture was photographed by Herb Ritts in Malibu, 1991. The star was 79 when she died in 2011.
Kim shared her pitiful version of the photograph along with the words, ‘My idol’ and an emoticon of a sparkling ring.
Granted, Kim and the late Cat On A Hot Tin Roof beauty do share a fondness for diamonds, but it appears that their similarities end there.
Unless, of course, you count the fact that Kim will soon be onto her third husband, while Elizabeth also made several trips down the aisle and was married eight times.
In September of last year Kim paid tribute to Elizabeth with a photo of herself in a robe which the star wore for the movie Cleopatra.
Elizabeth lent the robe to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star for a photo shoot which appeared in Harper’s magazine shortly before she died.
‘Forever grateful to Elizabeth Taylor! She lent me this robe she wore in Cleopatra!’ wrote Kim, who has previously gushed that Elizabeth is her idol, on her Twitter page along with the image.
Perhaps Kim isn’t entirely to blame for the narcissistic decision to compare herself to such a legend, as it comes just hours after it emerged that Kanye suggested he is risking his life onstage and compared his musical antics to that of a police officer or soldier.
The All Of The Lights singer told SaturdayNightOnline.com: ‘Like, I’m just giving of my body on the stage. I’m putting my life at risk, literally!’
Kanye went on to explain: ‘When I think about when I’m on the Can’t Tell Me Nothing, and Coldest Winter moment, like that mountain goes really, really high. And if I slipped… You never know. And I think about it.’
He added: ‘I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.’
