MAP to stage painting show

Motion Arts Production (MAP) is preparing a painting exhibition to launch a campaign for raising funds to curb sickle cell.

MAP director Honeymoon Aljabiri told reporters in the city that the main reason of the exhibition is to make people be aware of sickle cell disease and for those living with disease to know how to manage it.

She noted that the exhibition is set for June 17 this year in Dar es Salaam where the event will kick off a sickle cell awareness campaign expected to be held in September as a worldwide sickle cell month. “We expect to educate people to be aware of the disease,” Aljabiri said.

“Sickle cell is a disease that touches my family, so we want to educate the community in order to know how to manage a disease,” she said
