The tribunal put in place to investigate him has established that the mayor has case to answer which supports the councilors’ petition to boot him.

The tribunal, chaired by Justice Catherine Bamugemeriere, has handed over the report to minister in charge of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Frank Tumwebaze.

Minister Tumwebaze said he will cause a meeting for councilors within two weeks to decide Lukwago’s fate.

The Lord mayor has been locked in a battle of control of Kampala city, pitting him against the KCCA executive director Jenifer Musisi.

The battle has also sucked in city councilors, majority of whom belong to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

In June this year, 17 councilors petitioned the minister accusing the Lord mayor of incompetence, office abuse and misconduct.
