Mercedes Benz vehicles set for free inspection

DT Dobie and German’s Mercedes Benz are holding the first dedicated free service camps in Kenya, the first in Africa.

DT Dobie Service General Manager Stephen Farell said the programme has brought in a team of top technicians to assess customers’ vehicles at locations near their bases to demonstrate support.

“This camp coincides with the launch of a new dealer in Eldoret notwithstanding the huge cost of holding the camps that demonstrates a big effort on our part in expressing our confidence in Kenya as a growing market,” he said.

He said the concept developed a few years ago is being replicated in Africa after its success in the Middle East.  “We appreciate that time is a premium for truck owners and the service camps are aimed at minimising interruptions to the busy work schedules for their vehicles,” he said. He spoke during the launch of a series of camps in Western Kenya yesterday at Raiply Premises in Eldoret that targets 40 to 50 vehicles ranging from trucks to passenger cars. This is the second in the country being run by senior technical staff from the two companies after a successful one was carried out in Mombasa.
