Fisheries state minister, Ruth Nankabirwa, has described those rubbishing the recent memorandum of understanding between Buganda kingdom and the Government over the return of the kingdom’s asserts as selfish opportunists.
Nankabirwa who doubles as Kiboga woman MP said such people were insignificant and their ranting cannot undo the achievement.
“The opportunists are now using radios and other media platforms to console themselves in defeat by undermining the return of our properties because it has denied them a platform for sowing seeds of discord.
“Some people are serious jokers, as we talk now the kingdom has already received sh2b and the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga is overseeing the process of how the kingdom will reposes the other properties such as the kingdom’s official estates for Masaza, Amagombolola and properties of chiefs among others”, she added.
Nankabirwa who was speaking at a function organized by Kiboga Saza Boda boda Association leadership at Kajjere village in Kibiga sub-county on Saturday said some properties such as Masaza and Amagombolola estates house some people and local government headquarters.
“Therefore this requires a process for repossessing these properties without causing any inconveniences”, she said.
