Mr. Ruto don’t forsake youths; We need ministry of youths

Deputy President William KipchirchirSamoeiarapRuto has rose from a very humble background to become the second most man powerful man in the current Kenya.

Deputy President William Ruto

Mr. Ruto, a charismatic politician grew up in poverty, running 10 kilometers barefoot every day to Sambut Primary School, is a good role model for the young people in Kenya. After graduating from the University of Nairobi in 1990 with a degree in Botany and Zoology, MrRuto had a brief stint as a teacher in the north Rift where he was also the head of choir at the local African Inland Church.  After giving a moving prayer, the then president DanielArapMoi noticed his potential and started shaping the leadership he saw on him. It is so sad that the man, who is a product of the eye that could notice the potential of the young people, is in the government that does not have the Ministry of youth affairs.

The president while unveiling the cabinet secretary nominees said that the youths and the women shall be streamed from all ministries which are absolutely very insensitive. However, the young people of the republic of Kenya, who overwhelmingly voted for the Jubilleegovernment, are perturbed by the low deal the Uhuruto let government is giving them.  Time has come when the young people should not be treated as campaign machinery after which they are damped for other five years.

While campaigning, the Jubillee wing Choose a youthful Sakaja(28) as the chairman of TNA, but in the cabinet there is nobody who is below 40 years old. Was putting Sakaja as the chairman just but a campaign strategy?  We expected youth technocrats to be included it the cabinet, but our rude shock was two political rejects whom the president said are no longer politicians.Who is fooling who on this Mr. President? The remaining two ministries should be given to youthful secretaries.

Each year we have thousands of young people graduating from various reputable institutions of higher learning and if they cannot be tapped and utilized the way former president Daniel Arapmoi tapped Ruto early  90s, then the digital government is more of analogy pragmatically and digital theoretically. The many young people in the Diaspora should also be lured to go back home to help in actualizing the Kenyan dream, and they are more than willing to go back home and work with your government.

Since the constitution allows the president to have a maximum of 22 ministries, we are appealing to his excellence the president together with his deputy to take the ministry of Youth affairs very serious and have one in place. Having the ministry of youth affairs, shall ensure that the issues affecting young people are articulately addressed and the young people are fully involved in the daily running of the government. Mr. William Ruto should use his position to talk with the president to make sure that this ministry is in place.

Secondly, we are demanding the president to choose young people to take over the position of principal secretaries, Ambassadors, deputy ambassadors, head of parastatals instead of using these political offices to reward political rejects. The young people voted for this government and they deserve better than what you are offering them. Anytime we see a political reject as a nominee Mr.President we shall continue to raise an eyebrow and remind his excellence the deputy president to build future “RUTOs.”

Lastly, I would like to state here that, so far the President and his deputy are scoring well in trying to unite Kenyans and we are very proud of that. Walking from state house side by side is giving us a lot of hope that you have what it takes to take our country to the helm of economic progress. We are always praying for the two of you to be guided by God, so that you cannot start any unhealthy infighting for nusu mkate at the expense of hardworking tax payers. The young people are ready to work with you to ensure that this dream is actualized.
