Is Muhammadu Buhari On Life Support In London Hospital

Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari is probably on life support in a London hospital, insists Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state.

The governor cited return of Buhari’s wife Aisha from London. She has visited the president twice in less than three weeks in the British capital.

Buhari is currently on medical leave without any mention of his returning date and presidency spokesman Femi Adesina had earlier said the doctors in London would decide when he would return back to Nigeria.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo is now the acting president of the country. He has been given full authority to take decisions and people have been urged to meet him for any discussions and signatures on files.

He added, “The length of the president’s stay in London will be determined by the doctors.”

Since June 2016 Buhari has been visiting UK at intervals for health checks.

Meanwhile, the opposition and others have spread several rumors in the country over the period including the president is dead.

Buhari became president of Nigeria in 2015 with good votes and it was believed the country would see new dawn in social, political and economic fortunes.

He had headed a military regime in the 1980s being an army general.

Former President Musa Umaru Yar’Adua died in office in 2010 from long-standing and undisclosed kidney complaint. His deputy Goodluck Jonathan took over the office after his death. Considering this the health of Buhari has become a sensitive issue.

Earlier, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, criticized the Buhari government for worsening Nigerian economy.
