President of Namibia, Hage Geingob, said in Windhoek the world need to sort out the protracted Western Sahara issue.
Earlier too the country raised the same voice on several occasions that Morocco has illegal occupation of Western Sahara.
Addressing to a conference of the African-European party dialogue of socialists and democrats, the president added he is hopeful the Europe and Africa won’t be quiet on the issue and follow their stance to stand up against Morocco.
Geingob had earlier talked about support of the right to self-determination of Western Sahara people.
The National Assembly Speaker Professor Peter Katjavii and also the International Relations Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah supported the demands of Namibia related to Western Sahara.
In one of his recent interviews Professor Katjivivi echoed Geingob’s stance for global community to stand up against Morocco and support people of Western Sahara.
Meanwhile, it is learned the members of the Namibian parliament will be meeting their counterpart at the Interparliamentary Union (Union) Conference next month in Russia and agenda of Western Sahara will be raised.
Professor Katjavivi added they are hopeful the voice of people of Western Sahara will be heard at the conference.
He further continued the business is still unfinished and international community must address to the issue in Western Sahara.
He reminded that during their struggle for independence many organization across Western Europe and Scandinavia.
He mentioned, “The years of Africa’s struggle against colonial rule were tumultuous. The world was in a state of geo-political flux, caught between two superpowers engaged in an economic, military and ideological tug of war. “
