NBC picks winners in savings promotion


The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) picks six winners of bikes and generators in the the bank’s first draw of “Weka Upewe” savings campaign.

“After running the campaign for one month now, NBC conducted the first of three Weka Upewe draws to select winners to be rewarded with generators and motorbikes,”

“The savings promotion has been part and parcel of the NBC to make our customers at the centre of everything while rebranding and revamping our products to make them more useful to our customers,” the Head of Retail Banking, Mr Musa Jallow, said.

The NBC Head of Affluent and Liabilities, Mr Andrew Massawe, told a news conference that the past four weeks have been very exciting at NBC, because since the launch of the promotion there have been a lot of activities in the bank’s branches.

“Similar to our Dabo Mshiko promotion last year, we wanted to find a creative way to reward our customers for their business and better way than to reward them with generators to help when there are power issues and motorbikes, to help with not only transport issues but also a secondary means for decent income.


“We have had a great run since the beginning of this promotion and that’s mainly because we have excellent customers and clients, who have supported us through thick and thin, but above all we have a great team working and this rich mixture is what is attributed to the success of the campaign so far,” he added.

Mr Massawe further said that the promotion seeks to help customers save for their future, with the current economic situation, it is imperative that NBC customers would learn how to budget and save their income. Eligibility to enter the promotion requires a customer to open and deposit into their Malengo Savings Account or to open and deposit into a one year Fixed Deposits.

Account while the promotion is open to both existing and new customers. The ongoing promotion which was launched a month ago, will continue through December and end in January 2014, where a total of eighteen winners would have been rewarded with motorbikes and generators and one lucky winner will drive away a brand new 2013 Suzuki Swift car.

The promotion kicked off at a time when the bank was running a customer service month campaign, which aims to gather customer feedback and offer additional fringe benefits when customers visit NBC branches for their transactions. Over 300m/- will be spent on the promotion.
