He was reacting to reports appearing in a section of the media yesterday that

Speaking to The Standard, the former minister said there are no divisions in the party and they are determined to clinch the Bungoma senator’s seat, which was illegally taken away and Musikari Kombo is their preferred candidate.

“New Ford Kenya was robbed of victory in the Bungoma senatorial seat, and the court of law vindicated that. As far as we are concerned as a party now, we support Musikari Kombo, our winning horse who was denied victory,” said Wamalwa.

He disclosed that the entire Amani coalition brigade led by Musalia Mudavadi and Gideon Moi has already voiced approval for Kombo.

Wamalwa said in as much as the party sees nothing wrong in individuals expressing interest in running for the Bungoma seat on their ticket, the persons should follow the laid down procedures and desist from issuing statements to the media that may be vied as divisive.

Wamalwa asked the party members and Amani coalition supporters to disregard statements issued by non-members who have no authority to speak on behalf of his party.

“Some of those people who have expressed interest in being our flag bearers defected from the party in the last general election,” he said in what is perhaps a thinly veiled attack on Dr Juma Mukhwana.
