NAIROBI, KENYA: A crisis looms in the maintenance of Land Rover vehicles in Kenya after it emerged RMA Motors Kenya is yet to start operations.
Local owners of Jaguar Land Rover motor vehicles are at a loss following the development given that JaguarLand Rover Company withdrew its franchise from CMC Motors and gave the same to RMA group, which is yet to start operations.
RMA officials told The Standard On Sunday that the group is yet to kick off operations in Kenya, but plans are underway to do so next month.
“We are saying that RMA motors Kenya will be operational by first June. We definitely will be offering that service once we are operational,” said an official at the firm.
RMA Group took over dealership of Jaguar Land Roverbrands in Kenya from February 2013 when CMC Motors contract came to an end.
CMC Holdings is listed at the Nairobi Securities Exchange, but has not been trading at the NSE since September last year after the Capital Markets regulator suspended trading in the motor-dealer’s shares following shareholder battles.
