The New Miss Tanzania 2016 Is Miss Kinondoni Diana Edward

Mwanza – Miss Kinondoni Diana Edward is the new Miss Tanzania. She was awarded on Saturday in the city’s Rock City Mall and a Toyota IST car too added beauty too her personality at the end of the national beauty pageant.

The first runner-up on the evening was Miss Mwanza Maria Peter and second runner-up was Miss Ilala Grace Malikita. Ann Nitwe and Julietha Kabete were among the top 5.

Earlier the pageant used to be held in Dar es Salaam.

The national beauty pageant was presided over by judges Catherine Kibaso, Rita Mbelo, Sophia Masei, Eliza Kilili, Raphael Siantini, Joe Makanyaga, Prashant Patel, Ramesh Shah and Juma Sultan.

This is the first time the contest was held in Mwanza. It started with all the thirty contestants from all over the country dancing to various tunes followed by a catwalk donning innovative apparel, garments and evening attire.

Judge Ramesh Shah named out the top fifteen contestants who qualified for the next round and they were Anna Nitwa, Sia Pius, Lisa Ndolo, Grace Malikita, Eunice Robert, Regina Ndimbo, Illiminata Dominic, Sporah Lulende and Maria Peter. Others were Maureen Ayoub, Queen Nazir, Julieth Kabete, Maureen Kamanya and Abel John.

Guest of honor of the evening was Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Anastacia Wambura.

Maintaining dignity and discipline are important to become a good representative in international contests, said Wambura to the new Miss Tanzania 2016, who will be representing the country in the Miss World pageant in December this year in United States of America (USA).
