And to justify the importance of Uganda’s win, topUgandan MX1 Maxime Van Pee was recently spotted to undergo a rigorous round of practice at the muddy track  in Busiika.

Team Uganda have their work cut out. Captain Arthur Blick Jr and his teammates have to erase a 900-point deficit suffered in the first leg against Kenya last month in Nairobi.

But Maxime knows Uganda will equally not be easy fodder in their own backyard and it is on that basis that he is challenging the Kenyans to show their worth.

“Bring on Kenya,” screamed Maxime, his voice emerging through loud engine sounds of motor bikes inBusiika. “We are ready for them ( Kenyans). I am currently practising. I need to get the finer details right ahead of Sunday.”

Maxime was commenting about the Kenya team which includes three-time former Kenya’s Open Class champion Anthony Nielsen, who is back in the side.

Other big Kenyan names to watch in the side are Tutu Maina and regional MX1 leader Shivam Vinayak.

In the MX2, Kenya has Apollo Mbuki who is the reigning African Champion and former Kenyan MX125 champion Ivan Guya.

Rohan Gandhi is expected to shine for Kenya in MX125 along with diminutive Masalule Kituyi.

Despite their presence Maxime. Who skipped the opening round in Nairobi I believes Uganda still has an edge.

“In Nairobi, we were weak in the MX2 and MX1 but on Sunday it will be a different story. The return of Nielsen will also gives us a good challenge.”

The Kenya has over 20 riders, Tanzania with 10 riders and Ivory Coast as guests among the other countries taking part.

The event will also have South African Freestyler Nick de Wit displaying his acrobatic stunts which include the back flip and so much more.
