Nokia, Vodacom Partnership Begins 4G Services In Dar Es Salaam

Dar es Salaam – Nokia and Vodacom have started offering 4G to the mobile subscribers in Dar es Salaam. The two companies have again demonstrated strong partnership.

Nokia and Vodacom entered into partnership in Tanzania 16 years ago during the initial phase of mobile telecommunication in the country.

Vodacom TZ GM Ian Ferrao said the two companies have invested huge in the network to offer the fastest internet connectivity in the country.

Meanwhile, Nokia is also providing the customers of Vodacom Tanzania its 2G and 3G equipment.

The Finnish Mobile Broadband specialist has 106,000 work forces across the world.

Nokia country senior officer, Pete Beadle, said they are putting lot of effort in research and development and are investing a lot in it, which is something equivalent to the GDP of Dar es Salaam.

Nokia is having its business setup in almost all the countries in Africa and is putting all the effort to contributing to connect the continent to rest of the world.

The company is deploying and managing Vodacom network in Tanzania.

Ferrao added, the fastest 4G network is connected to their fiber network and hopes soon the service will be made available across Tanzania.

He further said, “Our vision is to lead Tanzania into the digital age and in order to achieve this we are committed to ensure that we deliver the best 4G services available in the country.”
