The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Stanley Ntagali has asked the Judiciary to dispense justice fairly if it is to ensure that justice prevails in the country.

“Many People out there are potential prisoners, they commit crimes but they are not in prison because cases are not handled properly. Many people commit crimes but get away with them,” Ntagali noted.
He made the remarks during his pastoral visit to Luzira Maximum Security Prison in Kampala on Sunday where he confirmed 87 prisoners into the Anglican faith. Of those confirmed, 15 are on death row while six are females.
“We need faithful, honest and obedient judges so that justice will continue to be administered fairly without favor because we all have human rights, our God given fundamental rights and the rights given by the Constitution,” Ntagali said.
He said considering the ages at which the inmates took the decision to be confirmed, they unquestionably wanted to give back their lives to God, which they had not thought of earlier.
Ntagali counseled the inmates that regardless of the challenges they encounter while in detention, they should trust in God because he is the only one who understands their plight and will always find the solution.
“You are here as prisoners. You are in a very difficult situation but where does your help come from? Despite the hurdles, never lose hope because we have a judge of all judges. A faithful judge that cannot be corrupted and that is God the Almighty,” he said.
