Petroleum price has gone up by about 2.5 percent this month due to surge in price of fuel in the international market, but there will be exception in those regions which receive fuel consignments from Tanga and Mtwara port.
Published statement revealed in Dar es Salaam petroleum will be retailed at 2,147/- a lire while diesel at 2,192/-.
The statement added, “Retail and wholesale prices have increased… prices for kerosene remains unchanged… The increase in local prices of petroleum products… is mainly due to an increase in the world oil market prices.”
It further continued that as Tanga and Mtwara had enough consignment, prices at these two ports will remain unchanged.
However, Mtwara storage terminals have to adjust kerosene price as it has run out and distributors in Mtwara, Lindi and Ruvuma need to fetch it from Dar port.
The lowest priced petrol is in Mtwara followed by Tanaga, Lindi, Dar es Salaam, Coast, Morogoro, Moshi and Arusha.
