The Association of Traditional Medicine practitioners (ATME), Chairman, Simba Abdulhaman Simba, told a press conference in the city on Thursday that the event will be followed by traditional medicines exhibition to be held from 15-20 September at the same grounds.

He noted that the association will be organizing the event for the first time since its introduction in 2003, saying for the past ten years, the event has been organized by the government in collaboration with the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

“The government decided that it was high time the event is organized by stakeholders themselves,” said Mr Simba. He said the event has become an ideal platform for traditional medicine practitioners to discuss burning issues pertaining to the industry, saying the event has also helped promoting the use of traditional medicine.
