The four rebel NRM Members of Parliament have been barred from accessing parliament premises or engaging in parliamentary proceedings by the Constitutional Court until the case against them in court has been heard.
The rebels MPs are Bernabas Tinkasimire, Theodore Ssekikuubo, Wilfred Niwagaba and Muhammad Nsereko.
The ruling comes after the NRM party lawyer Joseph Matsiko asked the Constitutional Court for an injunction barring the expelled MPs from attending Parliament or accessing its premises until the constitutional petition is concluded.
However, Justice Remmy Kasule disagreed with his colleagues on the judgement. The MPs’ lawyers have said they will appeal the judgement.
