Russia Vows To Support Nigeria More In Fight Against Boko Haram

Russia seems to be a good friend to Nigeria and lately vowed to support in the fight against Islamic terror organization Boko Haram and other group too in the country.

Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov said they have lately committed with more efforts and attention towards improving security and stability in not only Nigeria, but also in other African countries.

Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama urged to international community to support with more efforts to the country in its fight against terror groups.

Both the ministers revealed the new commitment during a joint press conference in Moscow.

About the terror organization Levrov said, “We will continue to support steps taken by Nigerian Government in the fight against Boko Haram.”

He added that the government is promoting solution to African problems regularly and they are looking ahead in bringing stability in Africa as a whole.

Talking about the meeting with Onyeama he said the Russian government exchanged opinions on issues in Libya, Syria and Middle East too.

Onyeama said Russia has always stood beside Nigeria sice the days of the country’s independence.

He added even though the Nigerian government has been able to degrade the power and capacity of Boko Haram in the country, but still the support of international community is needed.

Wednesday is Africa Day in Moscow and the Nigerian minister has reached ahead of it to discuss with Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev on how to improve the agriculture sector and how to expand trade exchange in agro products between the two countries.
